This program is designed for beginners, those who only want to take one or two classes a week, or those wanting to experiment in different dance classes. Creativity, confidence, and basic movement vocabulary are developed in a fun and inviting environment.

We also offer a specialized Junior Division classes for students three to eight years old in ballet, jazz, & acro. These popular classes focus on imagination, use of props and dynamic music selections while teaching correct technique and discipline.
Our ballet-based TRADITIONAL PROGRAM emphasizes an appreciation of movement, musicality, self-discipline, and personal growth. Students must take the required ballet classes per week for their level before enrolling in any other elective classes. Students work towards participating in Royal Academy of Dance Examinations and perform in June Performances at the Michael J. Fox Theatre.
Minimum Requirements of our Traditional Program:
2 RAD classes per week are required for Grades 1 to 3
2 RAD classes plus 1 open ballet class per week are required for Grades 4 – 5
3 – 3.5 hours of ballet including RAD & open technique is required for Intermediate Foundation & up
The following elective classes have no pre-requisite and may also be added in the Traditional Program:
In this elective class, the dancer will learn a solo set dance according to their age that has been choreographed by Surrey Festival of Dance. They will also have the option to perform at the Surrey Festival of Dance Competition in the Spring, by themselves on stage. This elective is strongly suggested for all individual Ballet Competitors. This class will end after the Surrey Festival is finished.
This elective for our Senior Division focuses on pointe technique, as well as learning Variations from classic Ballet’s such as La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, and Giselle. This class is encouraged to take as it helps strengthens a dancer’s pointe work.
This elective explores movement in challenging ways, following methods of Jose Limone, Martha Graham, and Margie Gillis and pairs perfectly with a strong ballet background. As the dance world becomes further geared to contemporary styles of movement, modern training is an incredibly valuable elective and follows current contemporary dance trends. This elective is a pre-requisite for Contemporary but does not have group choreography until Ballet 4 and up.
An additional ballet technique class that works on strengthening technique as well as teaching more difficult steps. This class is strongly suggested for all Individual Competitors.
This elective is a high energy class focusing on strength & flexibility with an emphasis on turns, jumps, & strengthening overall jazz technique. For Intermediate Division, this class has group choreography, but will NOT compete at competition. for our Senior Division, this is only a technique class.
This elective focuses on flexibility, strength, and acrobatic elements beneficial to a dancer in a safe environment. This class is strongly recommended to all dancers, as it is proven to help immensely with a dancer’s flexibility and strength, two vital aspects of a strong dancer. The instructor also can help on an individual basis to assist with injuries and specific areas in need of attention.
In this program, dancers enrol in our Traditional Program and add additional specialized technique and Company classes to cultivate comprehensive dance training. All students develop a strong foundation in classical ballet through focused Royal Academy of Dance and open ballet classes that utilize other international curriculum from our instructors’ backgrounds. Ballet training is complemented by other dance disciplines to develop a well-rounded artist. Commitment, discipline, physical strength, and good work habits are required to succeed in the Competitive Program. Competitive students participate in competitions, extra performances, & their RAD Ballet Examination. This program is available to dancers 8 years and up. Audition may be required.

This elective is for our Senior Divsion. It is rooted in Jazz technique and adds strong emotion by connecting with the song lyrics. This elective has a group dance and will be entered in two competitions. This dance will also perform at the Year-End Show.
This elective combines dancing and acting, focusing strongly on use of expressions, theatrical movements, and stage presence. This elective will have a group choreography, which will be entered in two competitions.
Pre-Requisite is Jazz Technique
Hip Hops is a street style of dance including a wide range of styles including popping, breaking, & locking. This elective will have group choreography, which will be entered in two competitions.
We offer one class for males 13 Years old and older.
Navigate the world of ballet in a fun and inviting environment. The class is for boys only who want to better their ballet technique. Turns, jumps, posture, and classical technique is the focus. Beginners welcome.
All dancers in this class will be invited to take an additional class from January to June on Wednesdays fat no extra charge and have an opportunity to perform in our year-end Shows in June.
In this additional class, you will learn partnering with female dancers and work on choreography that will be performed in our June performances.
Classes for adult dancers wanting to further develop their passion for ballet. All levels welcome. No experience required. Learn the basics of ballet in a safe and inviting atmosphere. Work at your own pace and renew your love for ballet.
